Gaming
In a judgmental world, there is only one escape. Gaming
Gaming doesn't judge
Gaming doesn't leave
Gaming doesn't ask silly questions
Gaming understands
Vast new worlds to explore
Lots of lives to live
From roleplaying to action
Adventure to platoformer
Sports to shoot em ups (shmups)
Rated EC (early childhood) to AO (adult only)
Gaming is there through your hardest times
It's comforting, it's therapeutic, relaxing and immersive
Sometimes you rage, sometimes you cry
Sometimes you play online and take your frustations out on actual players instead of npcs
From home consoles to computers
From mobile phones to handheld consoles
From Facebook to tabletop
There is a game and a platform for everyone
So you may be a gamer and not even know it
Gaming has seen me through my darkest hours
And been there when I'm excited for a new game in my favorite series
From preordering and getting the game on launch
To buying a used game
Gaming is gaming
And it's not going to die

I thought this was very poetic in nature. And you are so right about what you said, I have experienced some of this in gaming as well. IF only we did not live in such a judgemental world.
For me personally, I can\'t shake the feeling that somehow I am misplaced in life, like I belong somewhere else. Almost as if I belong in another land, I am sure you understand this feeling.
