Game On!
ok so I got the call today from my fertility peeps. They said to go ahead with the trigger HCG shot tonight and then start "intercourse" for the next 5 days. I know I am such a teenager at heart but I had to snigger when the nurse repeated the part about intercourse emphasizing the word about 10 times. Anyway, so I also had another sneaky look this arvo and the follicle was 25mm and not yet ruptured-so here goes...fingers crossed I ovulate! Then I will be on the same likelihood as a "normal" female for conception.
I am not sure if it just my head messing with me but after the trigger (I had to get my husband who is a doctor to give me the shot because even though I give other people needles all day myself, I cannot bring myself to inject my own body!) I felt pretty queasy. I know that last time I felt sick for days after-am just wondering if that is a normal side affect??
Anyway, nothing else much to report-had a very cruisy day at work which was nice, it feels good to be in good spirits again. Enjoyed a nice hard swim session this morning and a lovely run in the park after work with the Husband...really just trying to enjoy the sun at the moment.
Ok so heres my top 3 for today.....
1. I am grateful for my husband. I know that I mention him every other day in the grateful section but I really am. He was sick and dragged his sorry butt around the lake with me this afternoon not once but twice only because he knew how much it meant for me to run in the sun. Whilst he complained a little bit, he still ran with me. Also, I really don't think in all honesty that I have ever (until now) appreciated him fully for the person he really is. I guess that is one thing I have really learnt through this whole harrowing experience....the people that stick by you through these tough times are the keepers.
2. I am grateful for the willingness of strangers to co-operate. This morning when I was swimming in the pool, all the public lanes were pretty full. The only lane that was empty was the walking lane. I decided I would swim in that lane until someone wanted to come and walk laps in the pool (trust me...it is a thing for the old ladies!). Anyway, as soon as I started swimming in this lane, another young guy jumped in and joined me. We amicably swam in the lane for a good 30mins before and old lady approached us. I was quite happy to move over into the swimming lane (even though they were really crowded already) but she was fine sharing our lane with us swimmers...a little bit of co-operation and we all got what we wanted. How many situations in life are made more difficult than they need to be simply by people being difficult? I really appreciated her gesture and it set me up to have a great day.
3. I am grateful for good books. Not necessarily high literature, but just a really sweet, funny book that you can get lost in. I often refer to one of my favorite authors as literary junk/comfort food. I read most of her books on a yearly basis simply because I find them so amusing and comforting to me. For that I am grateful.
ok, so hopefully in two weeks'time we will have some answers. I am really scared that I have been so positive this time around and if I get a negative then I will come crashing down into a depression. I don't want to slide into that feeling of hopelessness again. I guess all I can do is wait and hope. If it is a negative, then I guess there is always next month...we seem to be onto a winning formula as far as the drugs go so I guess that is a positive that can be taken away from all of this.....

I understand your fear of sliding into depression. In the short few days I have been I member of this group I have come to realize that you have incredible strength and compassion. Don\'t forget to use it on yourself :)
Also, I felt I\'ll for days after the trigger shot too. And I has an itchy egg sized red bump at the injection site. The nurses to me it was normal.
Yay, happy trigger! I hope you have fun intercoursing, (hee hee) and have a successful cycle!
