Future Fears
This morning finds me unable to quell my fears of the future. CPS is doing everything they can to expidite the adoption of the three GKs by Hubs and I. Even in my current impaired condition, I can handle the higher math to know I will be 75 when the baby turns 10. I will be 85 when she is in the thick of that perilous transition from adolescance to adulthood.
Reality checks needed? ? ? Yes, 40 is the new 20 on the Cat Walk, butttttttttaaaaaa. . . Yes, 85 isnae what it was in my grandmother's day, buttttttttttaaaaaaaaaa. . .
Stop the world and let me off. . .
Can I trust The Gnarly Old Dickhead to lead us through? ? ?

Arfie,
I I can't imagine all the emotions you are going through. You can't think about the future but rather plan as best as possible. Peace and prayers to you.
I wish I was 20 again.
Aging at best is a hard pill for me to swallow....I look in the mirror and say 'who the hell is this person looking back at me?", and have felt the same fear with John~~~Serenity Prayer to your "The Gnarly Old Dickhead head" for the Spring of Life to appear for both of us :) Thinking that her big brother, almost 6 years older will be a good protector, and big sister a good companion and friend...she already is showing those protective and caring features with the chicks/turkey brood.....mostly, the down to earth loving grand parenting from you and hubby on the farm....((((Hugs))))
Hugs Arfie.
Cyclones and tornados during this time are to be expected, my friend. Steady breaths. Reality checks in the middle of storms are just as jarring.
Much support and love Arfie.
Focus on what is present and let the reality checks pass without dwelling on it. You have enough on your plate at this time that you done need more additions right now. Granted I’m a grubby cast iron pot at the moment offering advice to a fine kettle who knows how fast our bottoms blacken and blister when the heat is on. Advice is easily offered, but harder to take your own and follow it.
Hugs & love.
I hated it when the girls behind the counter said "Hello sir" instead of "heyyy". Aging is not for sissies.
Prayers for all continuing.
I'm glad you're being frank and candid with Gnarly about trust in this. In my own admittedly very different circumstances, I've had to approach Gnarly with frankness and candor about trust, too. I don't know for sure, but I'd give it a shot, arfie.
Thank you, Muji.
When I was a child prostitute, crying at depths only a child can accomplish, a gentle, loving presence was always in my hidey hole with me, and even took me on occasional journeys through time and space. My invisible friend assured me I could get as mad and name-calley as I wanted and still be worthy of love.
My best friend, ever. Still is, even when I am this mad.
Arfie your wisdom sometimes stuns me. You are right to think about turning old as you are raising a family of kids...Let's hope all that you have learned gets inside their heads as well! Praying for the best to come forth....
