Funny how things turn out...
Wow...it's amazing what sort of things happen when you open up to others!
TO WIT: I told my recently acquired love interest that I suffered from schizophrenia, and she was all the more accepting of me as a person. Who'd have ever thought???
Now, that's not something I'd advertise in my everyday existence, but it didn't scare her away. Quite the contrary...she invited me to church. And it's kinda funny, I made a New Year's resolution to NEVER AGAIN date anyone I met in a bar. Well, the man upstairs must've had a sense of humor, because the sweet gal I met, sang with, danced with, had a few hours of conversation with, KISSED EXTENSIVELY, and worshiped with in the span of fifteen hours is now a genuine love interest. My head is still spinning, and it's not even been two weeks that I've known her.
Part of me is wanting to stand on the brakes, mind. I don't know if that's the paranoid part of my schizophrenia poking through, or if that's just me trying to be cautious, but the other part of me wants to let her know that she's already been a mover and a shaker in my crazy life. I've fallen in love too quickly so many times before, and I don't wanna do that again, but it seems like the way things are panning out, she's the answer to so many prayers I've said in the recent (and NOT so recent) past. Oh, well...I'm proceeding with caution, for she's the most interesting woman I've ever known, as far as romantic interests are concerned, anyway. I mean, I never knew a girlfriend who I could sing with, much less harmonize with (and as I've been a musical creature from a YOUNG age, that counts for a LOT), much less share such interests with on a spiritual level.
Maybe I'm being too analytical here. Or maybe my cautious side is trying to tell me something. But I won't ask for advice...no, I'm gonna go with this, and let Fate steer me to the logical conclusion. God help me, come whatever may, but she's been a life-changer already. I hope I get to keep this one.
I just know that I feel something I've not felt in a long time, at least post-diagnosis. I'm going to pursue a romantic involvement, and I hope it's for the best. God be with me...

Woo Hoo! awesome possum! Yes it is possible to be in love in that short of time this is how it happened with my husband and myself. It\'s like...\"you just know\"!! When they complete your sentences and you can talk about anything, and just walking holding hands and telling stories is so invigorating right? Sounds like God is saying \"it\'s your turn Jaybird, it\'s your turn\" congratulations on finding new love...perhaps your sole mate?

i\'m so happy for both of you!!! Just listen to what God tells your gut! That\'s my new approach :)
LavenderHippie, I will take what you said to heart. The way things have fallen together (our first date being church? ), I really feel God is blessing me in so many ways, as far as my relationship with Stephanie is concerned. Thank you so much for your encouraging words...rest assured, this woman is a gift from God. I couldn\'t be more certain of it.
