Fun Fun Fun

Well my med visits are complete for now.  Here's the upshot . My pulmonary doctor gave me the results of my CT scan and now I get to see a new doctor. I have a slightly enlarged thyroid so it's offf to the ENT doc. I do have an amazing capacity to accumulate doctors. Who needs an AMA convention? I can just have them all at my house. I see most of them anyway so this just might save some time. I also went to the dentist today. A crown wouldn't hold so now I have to get a bridge. That involved extracting what was left of the tooth and a lot of measurements and adjustments to the temp bridge. Not much fun. It was a bit hard on me (oh to be 50 again) and I was a bit wobbly after  2 hours of this.  I had to sit for a bit before I left and I have to admit that I was more than a little happy to have been able to park in the disabled spot right by the door.  Well, the hard part is over. I return in 6 weeks for any fine tuning and in 8 weeks should have my permanent installed. I'm back home now and seem to be recovering. I don't have to fight any urge to over do or strain myself...I am pooped. Tomorrow's a new day,Tom

Ohhh my! My heart goes out to you with the dental work. Geez, I get nervous just reading about your experience today. Tell me, do you have any problems with the smells in the dental chair? I always hated the scent/stench of a dental office...ok ok , stench is a strong word but you know what I mean! So sorry about the new doctor referral...the more the merrier? Let us know how it goes!

You seem to be in a rough spot again. Sorry about all the misery you are going through. I went through all the troubles with an enlarged thyroid several years ago. Hopefully yours will be as simple as mine. My thyroid is just sluggish. I take a little tiny pill every day and all\'s good :)

Dentists....I think most people dislike going there. I haven\'t been lately (I know...bad-bad-patient) so I\'m not sure how it would effect me. I don\'t think it would be very good though. The dentist office has some strange smells.

Hope tomorrow goes easier for you,

Robin

p.s. Maybe you could convince all your doctors to rent a building together. Then you can just go from to another. I can picture you on a conveyor belt going from office to office....

The conveyor belt idea sounds great!

Robin - when you go to the dentist, take a long beach towel and put that on the chair before you lay down. It will keep 90% of the fragrance off of you. Even the plastic covers pick up smells, so I cover those, too.

At the beginning of the year I had about 10 dental appts. Not fun. I was ok with the smells and they were careful to not use scented things with me. In fact, I brought a bright, cheerful beach towel to lay on and the dentist would ask me if I my next stop was the beach. It cheered things up a little. I hate going to the dentist, too. I put off one of my cleanings for 3 years one time. But I didn\'t have much plaque, so I was \"ok\". Yeah, I\'m a bad dental patient, too. :-)

About the only good dental patient I recall was in a movie. Bill Murray was the masochistic patient in \"Little Shop of Horrors\". I don\'t think I can ever match the enthusiasm he displayed for a dental appointment in that film.
I feel better today. I think I\'m still a little wobbly from the ear infection. My balance is better but still a bit off. I\'m not ready for a career on the high wire yet.
Thanks for the concern guys. Like all of us, I\'m doing the best that I can. I do feel better.
Thanks again,
Tom

p.s.
I didn\'t really have much of a problem with the smells at the dentist\'s office. I guess I lucked out on that one.
