Ftm thoughts

Hello, I'm new to this website so I'm not sure how to use it but i believe this is like twitter-ish?? 

I often feel alone about my feelings and thoughts about being trans and I really want others opinions and personal experiences being directly to me instead of a youtube video (even though those help alot too). 

I'm from Norway and I have only recently come out to my immediate family about being trans, even though I think they got the hint when I asked them to call me Dennis instead 2 months ago. My question for now is;

Do I absolutely have to take hormones to be able to get top surgery, and how do they test you for being transgender?
