Frustrating new health thing!
Thought I was going to end up in the hospital last night. Had this big attack of something in GI Tract. Pain, oh man the pain, severe nausea with threats of vomiting, massive bloating, chills. If it weren't for all the pain meds in my body and a med my doc prescribed to take as needed for my chronic nausea I would have been in the ER, because with all the pain meds and the anti-nausea I was a 10 on the pain scale and it was BADDDDD. It went on for about 5 hours then I fell asleep and woke with just the nausea and lower pain levels. I continue to have new health problems and good heavens I have enough already. I researched my symptoms last night and it sounds close to Inflammatory bowel disease(Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis), that would be a very bad thing to have but it actually fit another more closely, Diverticulitis. This has been happening a few times a week for like a month but last evening was the worst yet. I am getting afraid to eat anything. Just had applesauce today.
FRUSTRATING!!! Honestly though, I avoid ERs because of all those times I had to sit in uncomfortable chairs with pain, peripheral edema and whatever brought me there for hours and never getting any real treatment once I'm seen. I'm so wiped out today far more than usual. Feel like I'm in recovery. So, I am going to bed.

Hope you feel better soon. I have IBS all the same symptoms except nausea is brief for me as a result of the massive pain in my belly sometimes. I think these pain meds we have to take daily eats our tummies up inside. Can\'t live with pain and can\'t live without drugs. We are stuck in a never-ending train ride. Feel better soon, Marci

It does sound like IBS. I have had pain similar~ it is so bad and so scary. I had a colon exam and it was worth the peace of mind to find out nothing obvious was wrong, even if it was literally: a pain in the ...\"

I have a friend that has crohn\'s she suffered terribly with not being able to eat certain things and then the pain was terrible for her afterwards. Her husband was a jerk, he bought the things that would make her more sick, they are no longer together. She finally had to have part of her colin taken out and now she is fine with very little pain. Sorry you had to endure the hospital, that is bad enough in itself. It\'s bad when you are sitting there with all those other sick people, just want them to call you and get you out of there.
IBS is so common with fibro, just another thing we have to put up with. I have had it so long myself I wouldn\'t know how to act if I didn\'t have it. I truely hope you have a supportive family. When there is little to none around you you do feel like you are all alone. My kids are supportive, they help when they can.

I just suffered at home because I never seem to get help for anything at ERs. I had IBS in the past and it is very bothersome and did cause bloating and pain but not quite like whatever this thing is. I thought I was going to die. My family is not supportive at all. My parents are helpful as far as a roof over my head and my friend that I stay with is helpful but I think just doesn\'t know what to say anymore so I pretty much keep this stuff to myself. I have my online friends and God for support. Thank you Jacque.
Sherry, you poor thing!!! I feel so bad that you were so sick!!! My sister has ulcerative colitis and she really suffers with it!! I hope the doctors can figure out what it is so that they can treat you for it!! My thoughts and prayers are with you my friend!

I\'m so sorry you had another issue to add to the kit and kaboodle! I agree about ERs. They never really helped me either. I\'d sit there unattended for hrs until \"whatever\" ran its course on its own, no thanks to them. And the bills... whoa! I hope you feel better soon. Take care. I\'ll pray for you!
