Frustrated with medical system as usual!

I had diarrhea from gastrografin juice mixture 4 hours after taking the first dose on Monday night. I also took two 50mg doses of prednisone 12 hours apart. I didn't sleep well because prednisone made me sweat and I had cramping all night. I took the last 50mg of prednisone yesterday morning the day of my scan. My scans went well. I did find out that a chest ct wasn't ordered as part of the scans like the last two times. My family doctor ordered the scans and I think it's because she's worried about radiaiton that she didn't order the chest ct scan. The CT nurse who put in my IV told me that there are people who have monthly scans, that I don't need to worry about radiation. I had cramping and gas the rest of the day and thin stools. I emailed my GI surgeon's office to ask why the chest ct scnas hadn't been ordered and they said to follow up with family doctor's office. Come to find out I have to find out the results from my family doctor's office too. The results won't be back for one to two weeks. If the results are good my family doctor will just have her receptionist file them away. I will only get an appointment if the scans show something. To find out if the results are back I have to call to find out. At least my GI surgeon would see me whether the results are good or bad. With specialists here if you haven't seen them in a year the referral runs out and you have to start the process all over again and depending on how they triage you it can take months or a year to get in to see them again! I'm not supposed to have another follow up colonoscopy until 2018 so if I am still seeing my new GI then he will be the one to do it. My gynecologist is getting copies of the ct scans too to check for ovarian cysts, etc..

I'm not sure if the results of my 24 hour urine tests and blood tests ordered by my endocrinologist are back. If they showed something then I will receive a letter in the mail with an appointment. If they didn't show anything I will hear nothing. I get my 6 month thyroid ultrasound in May 2017. I only see my endocrinologist yearly. It's the same with the pulmonologist.

My genetic testing is ongoing. They won't decide what blood tests to order until my tumor testing is complete. Tumor testing is supposed to be complete. They send the blood away to other labs for testing so I might not find out the results of my genetic testing this year. When all the results are back I will have another teleconference with my genetic counselor.

I've been told to be proactive with my health care and I try to be but with the system here it seems I get no where no matter how hard I try! I know I'm on edge from the prednisone and also because I started my period. My period always makes my digestive system and moods worse.
