frustrated...

Same ol' same ol'.  T is aware of his court date but it doesn't seem to have phased him very much.  He still took off today because we wouldn't buy him cigarettes.  He left school "sick" on Thursday but took off when he got home to go to his friend's house who called home sick, too.  They both said that T only stopped by the house from his "walk".  Whatever.  I do not believe that he did drugs or used.  Once he was "caught" (his friend's mom called the house) T came home and seemed perfectly sober.  I think T's ducking out of school as much as he does has to do with the fact that he feels defeated.  He's failing in two more subjects.  Although he is very intelligent, he has ADD, a learning disability, possible dyslexia - depression &/or anxiety - and not to mention an addiction - he struggles a lot and hates school.  This, I believe, is the reason he keeps wanting to leave school, not to get high.  Although I am not 100 % sure he's been absolutely clean a few weeks ago.   Having said all that - his court date is coming up.  He now knows that yet....he left our home today without permission....

Sounds like school is simply a place where all of his issues become exemplified, so when things get to be too much for him, it makes sense for him to leave, to try to get away from it all. I think the court date will, if anything, give me a little wake up call on how serious this i all becoming. Thinking of you and wishing you the best,

Is there a chance he is \"failing\" and otherwise having issues because he doesn\'t see a future for himself; has he looked at options other than traditional college; is he even interested....just a thought. Take Care!!
