Frustrated!
Oh, I don't think I can stand much more of this. The center called this morning. I have to get some pills to take day before, day of and day after each treatment, which are scheduled to start on the 21st. That is the easy part. I can get them at my regular pharmacy, here in town. Now the hard parts. I have to pick up the treatment drugs at the CVS in Clearfield---they won't let me do it here. I also have to get a Muga Scan of my heart before the chemo starts. Treatments will be once a week for the first 3 or 4 weeks, then every three weeks for A YEAR!!!! Cancer is rich persons' disease. Poor, working folk can't afford these treatments. I could never do it. My sister will have to take me to the hospital for that Muga on the 20th. She had it set up for tomorrow morning. I said not enough time for sister to notify her boss. So she will call back with a time on the 20th for the scan. I asked how long that will take. She said only about an hour. We'll see about that one, huh? We can get the first round of drugs that day, too, but I don't know how to do it after that. Unless the van can stop there long enough for me to get them the day of treatment. I just don't know...... The girl I talked to said she'd see if some special deal can be set up about the chemo drugs, since I don't drive and I can't ask Linda to go over there every week to pick them up. I almost told her to forget the whole thing. If it weren't for this port I would have. I swear, if I lived out in the woods I'd go outside and scream! But I'd hate to scare poor Bambi, Blossom and Thumper. Too bad we no longer have a wood pile. I'd go chop some. That is what sister used to do when she was mad about something. Oh, horse feathers!!
