From Medical Death Sentence to God's Deliverance
Hello All-
I am new here to this forum. I was diagnosed September 9, 2014 with Pulmonary Emboli throughout both lungs. The Radiologist who read me my "medical death sentence" didn't expect me to live due to the extensiveness of the clots. My situation is unique in that I have genetic medical defect that I inherited from my mother, who died on October 16, 1994 of an embolism to her lung-the exact same life threatening medical condition I now live with.
My mother had her spleen removed at 7 years of age, I had my spleen removed at 18 months. The term I have is called spherocytosis. I am a runner, and have been running since 1978 when I joined the US Navy after graduating from high-school. I could not breath during one of my early morning runs late last summer, and after a week of shortness of breath I saw my doctor who ordered the CT scan.
Both doctors assigned to my medical care team in the ER hospital told me had I not come in when I did, I would not be here today-simple as that. I had no idea, I would be diagnosed with the same life threatening medical condition that took my own mother's life at 53 years old, and I have already outlived her by 2 years only due to God's grace!
This life event has so affected me from an emotional and deep spiritual level that I wrote a book, "Miracles Still happen", From Medical Death Sentence to God's Deliverance, as a way to offer encouragement and inspiration to others who may be going through the same emotional roller-coaster ride as I have done. The book will be available both on PDF Kindle as well as paper back. It is my earnest hope and prayer, that through my personal story of living and thriving with this medical condition PE, that I can offer hope and inspire others that the same Living God of both the Old and New Testaments who performed miracles in Eternity's past, is the same Living God who is performing miracles today and in Eternity's future, and I am living proof of that miracle. Yes, believe it or not-Miracles Still Happen!
