Friday, the end of another week and still we wait
Good morning journal, the time is 6:40am and I have been awake for forty minutes, yes,Buttons did her thing again, but at least she actually had the good grace to go outside first before claiming my side of the bed on her return,so I guess she genuinely needed to go,which made me feel as if I was really needed, and I hadn't just been tricked again. So,I did what I always do when this happens,I made coffee and decided to come here to while away an hour or so,our youngest dog Caesar has decided to keep me company, well he was, until he climbed on our sofa and is now fast asleep, his body hunched up like the giant teddy bear that he is,well at least the thought was there son and I thank you for that. What news I hear you ask?,well,I went to my pulmonary rehab class yesterday,I enjoyed it,even though by the end I had aches in places that I didn't know I even had,my muscles were throbbing with the effort of a full session on the equipment, but at least I did get to sit down when I reached the exercise bikes and the rowing machines. Midway through the session,Jane, the respiratory nurse, checked our oxygen levels,my heart rate had shot up to 146bpm,she asked if I was okay, and to be truthful,I felt okay if a little breathless, she looked in my eyes and checked me again,150bpm,and I was standing still, she asked if I had any chest pain which I didn't,so she allowed me to carry on but I could feel her watching me all the way around the remaining pieces of equipment. Some of my fellow class mates were allowed to use props like chairs to complete some exercises, sitting down while the rest of us stood up,I didn't need any props at all,and I managed to finish the session in about an hour. Afterwards,we went upstairs for a coffee and a cookie,I'm a type 2 diabetic, but I thought "what the hell",and ate a cookie anyway, naughty man that I am!,Jane explained some breathing techniques to us that can help when the COPD rears it's ugly head, pursed lip breathing, breathe in through the nose, and then blow out as if your whistling,we all tried it,we looked a little foolish, but Jane seemed happy enough with us. Huff and cough was the next breathing exercise, you blow out hard, making a huffing sound, then cough, and the theory is that any phlegm or mucus trapped in your lungs will expel itself, hopefully into a suitable handkerchief and not all over your hands, top tip?,don't forget the hanky!. On my return home, just after I got through the door in fact, the Heavens opened and the rain absolutely battered down, bouncing a good three inches off the ground, this was followed by pounding hailstones, and I whispered a silent prayer of gratitude that God had allowed me to make it home before the storm, although it was a pretty close thing,I remained dry, which is always a good thing for someone with my immune system,if there is a cold going around,I will catch it,the cold then turns into pneumonia, which then becomes pleurisy, and the cycle goes on,if there isn't any cold or flu virus in the air,my body will invent one,it's just the way it is for me,you get used to it after a while. I have been excused the next two sessions at the gym,on Monday next,I have an appointment with the urology clinic to find out the results of the blood work I had done, and then on Thursday,I have to see my doctor for my regular monthly visit,so it's a busy week for me next week, note to self, rest and recharge the batteries,I'll need the extra energy in the next five or six days. I hope the weather is good to us today,if it's dry at all,we must get to a bank and open up a new account, time is running out for us,and our present bank is getting ready to close our current account, which would leave us with nowhere to deposit the small amount of unemployment money along with our housing and council tax benefit we already receive, and any future allowance from the disability people, the new account is a must do,and it cannot wait much longer,so,let's get it done today please Lord. My appetite is still virtually non existent,I couldn't even finish a very small portion of my dinner last night, I hate wasting food, especially as we have so little at times,I apologized to my wife for my inability to eat, but,as always, she was very understanding,I just hate that she goes to all that effort preparing and cooking a meal, and I just can't finish it,I feel as if I'm being ungrateful, but our dogs on the other hand, are always very grateful recipients of my left overs. Well, that's about all my news for now,the end of another working week for most people, and still we wait for news, who knows?,perhaps there will be something in the mail today,we can only pray that there is,so,until next time journal, may Jesus walk through another day with us,we need Your right arm again Lord, and may Your peace and love fill our home and our hearts in the day ahead.

Hey... your starting to sound like your feeling OK lately, not at all overly depressed. They say exercise lessens depression so maybe it\'s doing this for you.I do hope you get your appetite back that\'s a bit worrisome.I really do hope that god comes through for you in providing a disability payment ever month. Please,Please God..make this provision go through soon!
You put a smile on my face so happy you sound good going thru your class very proud of you getting thru it all but not over doing it - I hope the rain let up enough for u to get the new acct open i have been having one storm after another here.
I\'m also worried you can\'t eat much i do understand tho as there\'s days i can only eat a few Apple Chips. Put it all into God\'s hands he will not give u anymore than u can\'t handle he will not give up on you.. Soft Hugs.
