Friday night lights

Tonight is the start of my youngest H.S. football career,  he is just a freshmen, probably will not see much playing time,  but oh how I remember the feelings.  I was very fortunate to see some early action in HS football played a lot as a frosh,  things have changed on that aspect but some things remain the same.  When your a young man and everything you say or do is scrutinized to the max, you can 1, curl up in a ball and become a recluse to the world around you,  2  meet the adversity head on and embrace it with vigor. 3.  turn to a an escape route that sometimes involves the use of alcohol or drugs  simply to escape what all is taking place around you.   I've given him the tools to make the choice, heres hoping and praying he makes the right one

Ahhh, tonight will be a big night for both you and your son! It\'s not the time playing, it\'s the fact that he made the team. Everyone has to do their bench time to appreciate the playing time. You were probably a fortunate one! Have a great time tonight!
