I was sitting here feeling bad and down in the dumps and wondered what I could do to bring my spirits back up. So I did a search for support groups and after finding out there isn't a local group I went looking for online support groups. This one was first on the list. I hope it will turn out to be helpful.
I know my pain level is up because I did too much yesterday and the day before. I love my garden and I really want to get it going but the fibromyalgia makes it hard. I have two teen-aged boys that could help me but they don't want to. They do chores and then I want them to work in my garden too. I don't want to rely on them too much because they should be able to be kids while they can. It wont be much longer before they are out on their own and will have to work. I hate it that I have to rely on others to get things done in MY garden. So I did it myself and even though I took several breathers I ended up being hit by extreme pain later in the afternoon and had to go take something and lay down. I don't even remember seeing my husband when he came home from work. This morning I woke up feeling like I'm as old as Moses. My right shoulder was hurting really bad yesterday after the first day of working in my garden but now my whole body hurts. And my soul hurts.... every now and then I have days like this where I wonder why me and why to this degree? I have become a cripple in an able appearing body. And the problems seem to never end. I now also have horribly dry and irritated eyes. I went to the eye doctor a couple weeks ago and I have conjunctivitis caused by a combination of allergies and sever dry eyes. He said the lining of my eyes is very inflamed and swollen. He prescribed some allergy drops and some steroid drops. He said he would try to get it under control but warned me that it will probably never go away because it is part of the fibromyalgia. I also get migraines triggered by bright light so after a long dark winter in Alaska waiting for summer I can't stand the light. So I got some prescription sunglasses so I can go out in the sun. They still feel weird to me but I'm glad to have them so I can go outside on a pretty sunny day.
On a good note though, I did get a card in the mail from a friend from church. It is a very pretty hand-made card and I love it. I love that she thought of me.
Well I am going to go and try to get some cleaning done in the house. I'm going to put on some good music and try to start feeling better. I want to eat everything in the house but I'm trying to resist because I'm need to lose weight. I weigh more now than I did when I was 9 months pregnant. :O(
