Friday Counseling

Here is my update I promised you.  Have a blessed Resurrection weekend!!!   I guess I have made more progress than I realize during this one month time.  I learned that I can tell the difference between the past and the present from the trauma of last October, learned three ways to cope with a panic attack that I practiced the other day, and learned that it is not my fault but the perpetrator.     I had a panic attack the other day when it was completely dark, it took me 30 minutes to calm down, and then afterwards I fell right to sleep.  I coped by saying, “I am safe,”  “It’s okay,” and singing Jesus loves me (which reminded me of a calming memory).  I felt good when this was brought to my attention as well as the other listed above.   I am still working on changing that negative thinking to positive by not putting myself down because it’s a way to avoid the pain instead of dealing with it.  Basically, the ABCD method I will be using, but focusing on the D.  Anytime I encounter a negative thought, I am supposed to question it by saying three questions.  1.  Is it true?  2.  What is the evidence to prove it would be true?  3.  Is it logical to believe this thought/belief to be true?
