Friday

I remember saying to myself this past Monday that I hoped Friday would come quick and here we are.  Interestingly enough, I got a call from the county inspector that I copied in my last email yesterday.  He told me that he would go by and inspect the apartment and write them a citation.  After the last email overnight they decided to let me out of my lease.  I have an email stating they will refund the money.  I won't get my moving expenses back either but I'm tempted to sue later for that.

The movers will move my things Saturday afternoon and I will turn the keys in.  Not only are they refunding me my first months rent but also my application money...hush money I think.  I dont want to even go over there but I need to in order to get my stuff out.  Guessing I will get around this morning and go over.  Work continues to be stressful-boss still picks at me.  I blow her off.  Yesterday I had no work to do and the phones were down.  I'm not quitting.  Yes, I'm being passive aggressive I suppose, but, I've put too much time and effort in this job to walk away from health coverage.  I'll just let the cards fall and let the universe decide.  No more major decisions for me, I'm just not confident in my decision making skills as of late.  Have a Happy Friday and a great weekend!

Glad you're coming out of this apartment thing fairly whole. Sometimes that's all you can hope for. Their motivation, who knows. I'm sure they are cutting their losses similar to you, once they realized it was more hassle than it was worth to not refund you the application fee. Small change to them I'm sure.

Yeah I've never quit a job without another one lined up. My ego and pride unfortunately don't pay the bills or my benefits. Plus even if I hate my job or the place I work while I'm there, once I leave a place and have time to reflect, I usually gain some perspective and feel more philosophical about the experience. I try to not leave a place in a blaze of glory even though I fantasize about it mightily. It's that whole burning bridges thing. It's hard to navigate and reconcile that when applying for new jobs, interviewing for new jobs, giving references, etc.

I don't think blowing off your boss when you think she's picking at you is passive/aggressive. I just consider using silent treatment as a tactic, a means for expressing how a person feels or as punishment, is passive/aggressive, that's all. . I think blowing off any perceived jabs at you is the a good approach so you're not internalizing it or letting it get under your skin. I do that all the time, if it seems like my boss is being unreasonable or not responsive to me Most times it's just all stress, my stress, her stress, etc. And most times it has nothing to do with me. I mean, at the end of the day, it's just work. That's it. We stay, we suck it up or we leave. It's not any deeper than that but it can sure feel that way.

Hope all goes smoothly this weekend so you can put it behind you. You will probably feel so relieved to not have that hanging over your head any more. Good for you. And honestly, given the crazy world we live in right now, I"m not making any big life decisions myself right now because I feel a little off my game with that as well. Sometimes it's ok to just be. In fact, I feel it's the only way to go right now, personally.

I can straighten the clutter at Roomies house. The clutter really bugs me-however, clutter doesn't have 4 creepy crawly legs....

Yeah I'm not cool with bugs in the house either. I don't blame you one bit for taking a stand on that. I'm in Wisconsin. Mice are more an issue than bugs indoors, generally. Fortunately, I've never had a problem with them in my old house, but in our old garage, between the mice, squirrels, chip monks and raccoons, it was like a Wild Kingdom episode. Fortunate for them I'm an animal lover.
