Friday

Its finally Friday.  Roomie was up and out early this morning and I am having coffee cat talk with Lefty and Sammy.  I've decided that I will just deal with what Joe does-but after he signs the papers for the cable, I will either change my number or block him.  I'm even going to sage the house this morning and all my things to cleanse the bad energy.

My work keeps me busy but, I am more anxious now about losing my job as I have more responsibility.  My lease is 11 months long and I have saved enough to be a month ahead on rent.  As I am here, I am taking this.month before move in to get my mind and stuff organized.  I'm in need of a dresser, so, I may take go to goodwill this weekend and look for one.  I need everything.  I have only a bed to sleep in and nothing else.

I'll be posting more so I hope you all dont mind.

Happy Friday All.

It’s your journal so keep posting whatever you want!

You don’t have to get everything for your new place all at once. That’s a lot of pressure so maybe just get what you absolutely need first. I’ve been there, where literally I moved into a place with just a mattress and lawn chairs and a few essentials. Then I bought stuff as I could after I moved in. I mean you were willing to live in your car at one point so not having everything will be ok. I find creating lists of must haves and future haves helps me organize my thoughts and stay on top of things.

He cannot tell you what to do with the your car insurance and your cable account. Don’t let him dictate the terms. If threatens you in any way, get a restraining order. If you have to get your cable equipment, I’d have him meet you someplace in public to do that perhaps during a time of day when he’d be the least loaded. Or bring someone with you.

He really is a piece of shit. Sorry I know you see some good in him somewhere but unless people can display that decency and respect on a consistent basis, they really are not deserving of any slack, in my humble opinion. Don’t let him manipulate or scare you.

I'll join the choir that this is ***your*** journal. You The Boss and you have the right to block critics. In my own journal, I go so far as to say I have an obligation to myself to block critics. I have enough inner critics confusing me, already. It's therapy, not artistic ambition.

For what it's worth
I consider myself broke unless I have enough emergency fund to live comfortably for 3 months, whatever my current lifestyle. Three months isn't much in the eye of a crisis. Nothing wrong with being broke, though. There is much to be said for living moment to moment.

Broke or loaded, the moment to moment approach to life serves me well. Taking life as it comes seems to be far more efficient than worrying about futures than might or might not happen according to my personal preferences.

The chickens I'm having my morning coffee with are ever so grateful Sam and Lefty are in Florida. Cluck cluck, clink.

There is something to be said about the moment to moment approach especially when going through changes and stress. Control what is within your control right now. That's it. Anything else is just noise and distraction. I have a lot of anxiety at times, not about big issues, but the seemingly little issues, I have a way of amplifying them and will then spin, worrying over all the what ifs until they feel almost catastrophic. But honestly, almost all the stuff I worry about never happens anyway, and if it does, it ends up just being a solvable problem. Nothing more.

I've been both poor and broke. Poverty is soul crushing. Broke... is ok. It's easier to get unbroke than it is to get unpoor. It's also easier to dig yourself out of a financial hole when you're not trying to also help out someone else. Once you cut him out of covering his auto insurance, that money is back in your pocket at some point. Same with the cable. So you're already starting to gain traction. What I'm trying to say is you're already better off than you were a few days ago in every way, in my humble opinion. Keep your head held high and focus on how good this is going to be once you get through the little pain points.

Thanks,
I was suppose be meeting him at the bank to get the avadavit signed to transfer the cable but now he's not even talking. I threatened last night to go get the cable equipment on Sat with a police officer. This may still happen if I don't hear from him. I know he has something up his sleeve.

I’m sorry he is handling this so poorly. Do what you need to do, no apologies, no guilt. You are ok.

You are the stronger and hold the cards. He pretends he does with his silly tactics but no, you do. He’s just throwing a baby fit right now.

I was raised in poverty and I see poverty as a frame of mind. I know more than one person with a fat financial portfolio and an impoverished life I wouldn't wish on my meanest enemy. I've known others who never had two nickels to rub together but are richer than my dreams.

Money is just dirty paper. Honor requires I give Cesar his/her due, but it doesn't fix many problems and? ? ? Now I have that Beatles classic caught in my head. "I don't care too much for money. Money can't buy me love."

I've had far worse things caught in my head. . .
