Friday
I got home last night and packed up. I always pack too much but I figure what I dont use will stay in the car.
I remember going to church camp with one of the neighbor kids. When camp waz over I cried because I didnt want it to end. It was one of the best times I ever had. I am already getting that feeling that the next 2 days will fly by and I wont want to leave. I am already looking at my calender to go back when the weather cools off and stay the max number of nights allowed or possibly checking another treehouse hostel nearby. I cant get away from my job and this house fast enough. Ill post when I get there a few pictures of the place. On another note, the lady at the front desk will be back today- boss seems to think she may quit but I am sure she wont. As much as she irritates me I feel bad for her. I think shes been having memory problems and Ive been trying to support her emotionally as she feels she can confide in me. It just goes to show you never know what people might be going through so its best to try and be supportive. I did manage to get a quicker appt with my counselor. Im taking a notebook with me and writing down things Id like to work on over the next several months. Ive decided this situation im isnt condusive to what i want in life. Its one sided and i feel my needs arent being met so Im going to work on changing my situation and come out a whole person.

YAY! ! ! A well earned retreat is almost here! ! ! Here chickie, chickie, chickie. . .
For what it's worth:
"Reframing" is an extremely useful tool I learned in psychotherapy. It was a cornerstone of the last mindfulness workshop I attended in 2012. A verbatim phrase here in your post which I did extensive work on reframing, in the '70's is, ". . .I feel my needs aren't being met." Long before I reached that 2012 workshop, that phrase had been solidly reframed to, "I am not meeting my own needs." I do believe that slight shift in focus made a HUGE difference in my approach to life.
I'm still kissing toads, but these days I am more humored than desperate when none of them turn into enchanted princes. There has been a sudden rise in the toad population here at the farm. Guess I'll be getting extra chances to see if any of those toads are enchanted princes. I'm not so sure I want an enchanted prince of my own any more, but I still wanna see *that* show.
Enjoy the trip.!
Hugs!
Your right about the "I am not meeting my own needs", it was always my choice to be in this situation so it totally makes sense. Its one of the hottest weekends of the summer so hoping I can stay cool enough. Will probably be spending alot of time in the shade. I called the lady at the front desk and told her I'd be getting there after hours and she suggested that since I'm cutting into staffs relax time, I bring a gift for them for good energy (chocolate or wine). So Ill need to find a place that sells organic chocolate or stop at the local Winn Dixie and pick up wine. Do you think Proscecco will do? It's a light wine.. may be good for a hot evening, but, I won't be partaking.
I have a genuinely horrific track record for guessing what other people will like, especially if I have never met them. I go for meeting my own needs in cases like this. If the good intentions go awry, I can let myself have a treat out of it. If the good intentions find a path to appreciation, maybe I'll get to join the party and enjoy the common interest.
Personally, I think beer goes better in the heat. It's triple digit hot here on the South Plains. Gatorade is my libation of choice this week. Hydration needed.
