Freakin...

So I am moving to California in 59 days!!! I am so ready to leave Dallas behind me, as I am getting frustrated with working for such little compensation here and constantly struggling to make it by... however my sister, morther, brother in law, and father are making me feel awfully guilty, and I can't figure out why. My sister has made a great family for herself and has a picture perfect life... they try and guide me but never actually helped me really, my sister has always been very selfish. (7 years older, and she was biologically related to my adoptive parents). They want me to "kiss and make up" with my mom when they don't know the half of what my mother has done and said to me. They keep taking her side because she has had "such a hard life" but no one acknowledges that her life became mine as a young child. I will never deprive my children of a childhood the way she did. Ready to move! Want to fix these loose ends tho. Also my bro in law asked me if I was taking benzos again. Ive been sober for 8 months. Not cool... still upset about it. Do I just leave it all behind, or try and mend these broken relationships... I will miss my 3 niece and nephews, all under 5... but its not worth them demeaning me and treating me like I am 18

I think moving is a great idea. I think it will be hard, especially moving away from nieces and nephews, I don\'t think I could do it. But I moved just far enough away to where they only bother me by phone, they only come and get me, or visit me when things are really important. I like it. I think it will be a good thing to get away from people who are treating you so badly. It will be hard, but worth it. Good luck, much love and HUGS!

You\'ve got to take care of yourself first...then see where things go.

You are the most important person in your own life. Take care of her, at all times.

When you get some distance, you may well get some clarity about the lives of others. They have their own \"crosses to bear\".

Amanda, don\'t consider yourself in \"sobriety\". Let that definition be in someon else\'s dictionary.

Rather, grasp the concept of your trauma\'s in life. Understand that, apart from trauma, there would be no need for alternative coping mechanisms.

\"Sobriety\" implies shame and you have no reason to be ashamed about anything.
