Foxy Back?
Foxy has been a little standoffish the past month or so. She hasn't slept with me in a long time. I figure she doesn't want to try to get on the new mattress. See's it as too much of a hassle since it's 3 times taller than the old one. And, she's been pulling away when I try to touch her. This makes me lonely and frustrated. There's nothing better than stroking a dog you love. And, if you can't fall asleep, a few pets, rubs, or strokes can send you to slumber land. Well, last night we had a line of heavy thunderstorms come through with plenty of thunder and lightning. It was pretty noisy and had big light shows. Foxy gets scared during thunderstorms and has a few special places to hide. She used all of them last night. Last night, I got her on the bed, figuring she'd jump off and head to living room after about 5 minutes. Would you believe it? She stayed! Not only did she stay, she got as close to me as she could. It's been a long time since she did that. Maybe she's turning around. Maybe she'll realize that being on the bed is worth the hassle. Guess I'll see tonight.

Sometimes our pets can feel all our feelings without us even knowing. Perhaps she has been feeling your frustrations and pains over the past while and has been giving you space because she has thought that have been directing them at her, even though you are not. Sometimes we don\'t see what is right in front of our faces... she needs that special \"me\" time every day, even if it\'s for only a few minutes at a time. Take care, Mike, she\'ll come around. Hugs and kisses, Deb :o)
Pet\'s are funny like that - change a mattress or some such thing and it can cause them to think life itself has changed. It takes a bit sometimes to settle back into life. I\'m glad she is getting used to her life again.
