Format Change IV
I would be one of those techno geeks who believe there are Ghosts in the E-Machines. I am as quiet about that belief as I am with the rest of my Inner Faith. You won't find me on any reality shows, tramping through old buildings, striving for academic validation, but so many things in Nature and communications run on now measurable electrical impulses that I find it hard to believe the unknown dimensions donae have access to those impulses. Kinda like when Albert Einsteing sidestepped the religious debates by pointing out that matter cannot be destroyed. It can only be reshaped. How can human bodies be the exception to that rule?
Long before connectivity was a requirement --or even available-- for computer usage, I *felt* like my spirit guides were attempting to communicate with me through my electronic devices. I have zero interest in *proving* that sense. I would far prefer to convince an Atheist that there are gaps in empirical knowledge where academics of the empirical collective have yet to *discover* all there is to *prove* in the vast cosmos.
Nowhere do I *feel* the imperatives of my spirit guides than in the channeling of my anger. Yes, Mister/Miss/Missus Atheist, ^it^ could be just that I am far more likely to make mistakes while I am repressing my anger, butttttttaaaaa. . . Please get your empirical evidence out of my Inner Faith. Those strictly personal yaddahs are not available for *your* empirical spreadsheet processing. The strictly personals left for me, alone, to process after the disastrous christening of the honey barn's first harvest are considerable.
The App invasion of my off-line therapy journal experiment *feels like* part of that theoretical spirit guide mischief. I channeled considerable anger into The Cloud over the course of assessing and repairing the collateral damage of the App Store invasion. The experimental Format Change is off-line once more. For now. . . The Cloud marketing departments sure do want me on Their Cloud.
More soundtrack from the 1965 Rolling Stones hit. "Get Off of My Cloud." Is there an app for that? Do I get to chuckle over the metaphors which transcend technology?
Replies
You do get to chuckle about that and yes I think there is an app for that. ; ) Triple hugs of support for the off line journal journey~
how about this one...."Can't Get No Satisfaction"
Hoping all will be resolved Fast!
Electronics and myself are not good friends. They will turn on you for no apparent reason. Arfie, you have the skills to retaliate. All will be well. Hugs.
I love this entry Arfie.
My “inner faith” and “religion” belongs to a cat in a box and I firmly believe that energy doesn’t die. I wouldn’t be surprised to find there are “ghosts in the machine”.
Last year, my cousin was especially paranoid about that very thing, which we both found slightly humorous. As we both would have are phones with us all the time & we had the most off the wall conversations, she found that the next day when she go to do searches online or check some app that provides recommendations, the pop ups would often relate to a conversation we had been having the day before. Is this coincidental or proof, lol? My natural skepticism is still wondering about that one, lol.
Good luck my friend. Hugs!
Can I trust the app for that, Dreamer? I can't even fathom looking for my Inner Faith I.F. at any store. Not even The App Store.
Satisfaction has been a whole lot easier to find since I started appreciating moments rather than High Ideals, ML. The theme of that particular song is ancient. I think Adam might have sung it to Eve before they started playing under that forbidden tree. Just guessing. . . For sure it is a magnificent version of a story worthy of many tales.
Don't ask me how, Simpson, but somehow your relationship with electronics reminds me of my favorite band of misfits from the Days of Dick Tracy Watches. They called themselves, "Abnotechs." For some unknown reason, electronic and mechanical devices went haywire any time these highly intelligent and educated walked into a room. They were so bad that the Aviation Commission declared the air over their lab campus, "A No Fly Zone." Their specialty: Product Testing. If you could get your design through their testing lab, you were guaranteed a bullet proof product.
Do your I.F. and religion stay in the box with the cat, Mighty River? Do they get regular exercise and nourishment in there?
Hey Arfie, back in high school they had us take this aptitude test. Three choices for 100+ questions. I always finished tests and classroom assignments quickly. I hand it in; the teacher scores it; then tells me I have to retake it and read it this time. Finished second one and hand it in. Identical results. Seems that when someone managed a mechanical aptitude as low as mine was, they had to retake it. Thank heavens I didn't have to take it a third time. Guess I would have been hired on the spot for the "Abnotechs". .
Oh occasionally my cat comes out of the box both alive and dead at the same time, is all claws and searching for that nasty physicist who was mean enough to stuff him in the box with glowing food in the first place. We enjoy a good scratching and sharpening of our claws every now and then, lol. It all just depends on our moods and which way the neutron is spinning, Arfie..., or was it which way the wind is blowing. Either way we go regularly hunting for fresh sashimi and some saki to wash it all down. Radioactive diets only get you so far.
My theme meme is “I survived. Suck it Schrödinger.” It’s become my motto to live by, lol.
Hugs Master Arfie.
SimpsonsOK, btw, you sound just like my mother. If there’s any electronic or technology within an inch of her, be ready for green smoke and fireworks, lol. That nasty green smoke is so hard to get back into the bottle. Sigh back to the lab. (Old computer technical support joke.)
Speaking of technology jokes that may lighten our oppressed internal computers. Does anyone realize that that little tray that pops out makes an ideal coffee cup holder? HeeHee.
Hugs!
