forgiveness
i wonder how can i forgive my uncle for molesting me. someone told me that God forgives because he can forget. i get that. the book: the courage to heal, says we do not have to forgive the abuser and it mentions "hate." i have mixed feelings about that. i thought of asking my priest. i've searched the Bible. there is nothing exactly that mentions "child molestation" in the Bible. the Bible tells us to turn the other cheek. it would be a better place if i could turn the other cheek. anyway, there is a section in the courage to heal that talks about forgiveness, i said that, and i think the key to forgiveness is forgiving yourself first. you need to forgive you the child for wanting so much attention and you the adult for feeling ashame for the mistakes/bad habits you have made. i found that empowering when you start to focus on you. everything seems easier on you mind at that point. i tell myself to leave room for God. i am soo tired of doing this. it is this constant war. i think it's the child inside of me and me the adult at war. i do feel like if i just relax and let God step in it will be fine. i do believe that, but because of the trauma it is difficult. we do have the will to do it - God gave us that.
