Forgive and Forget right?
This is a huge change in my life and I've been thinking about it by my self for a couple weeks now. It hurts so much. I have cried everyday because how hard it is but I need to do this.
Sorry to be a bit suspenseful but... I am forgiving my mom. I have been working on this for a couple weeks now and a couple days ago she reached out to me. Just asking what I want for my birthday. Nothing special or anything. But I told her I didnt want anything and she said she wasnt take that as an answer. So I told her money is fine cause I dont know what I want.
I texted her basically to explain it shortly I said... mom this isnt easy but im ready to forgive you but that doesnt mean you can come into my life like nothing happened because everything you did still hurts me so much. I can do my best to forgive you but I will never forget".
She said "I understand that 100%. It will never be the same and I am sorry for that. I love you and always have and I am sorry that i wasnt there :( I dont expect tou to ever forget but id like to move forward... however that may happen". I wont lie that made me bawl my eyes out. She seems to care but I cant get my hopes up, cause she may not mean a wrod she says like she has proven in the past.
This is hard to do on my own but its probably best. I finally told my dad and Erica and they didnt say much but "thats good ig" and its making me doubt my decisions to forgive my mom.

As hard as that was for you, believe me, you did the right thing. I forgave my parents who were not there for me also and it turned out to be the best thing I ever did. If you can forgive your enemies and the ones who have wronged you, that is the greatest form of love there is, and good things will come your way as a result...hugs
I am still working on it, but ill get there.
Thank you Bob
Bob said it all. Just go as far as you're willing to go. Make boundaries and expectations with her.
I am. <3
I'm super proud of you. It takes a lot of strength to just think about forgiving people who hurt you. It's understandable that everything she did still hurts you.
Remember, forgiveness isn't forgetting, nor is it excusing the bad actions of the other person. Nor does it mean you have to still be in contact with the person who hurt you. And it's solely your choice. Some people may push you to forgive someone who hurt you even if you don't want to, and that's not okay. It's perfectly OK to not forgive, as well as it's perfectly OK to forgive. And it's completely OK if forgiveness takes time.
If you want to forgive your mom and think it will help you heal, I support you in that. I believe in you!
I am forgiving her as I should like it says in the Bible but also to help me heal. Its something that is taking time and its hard but I will get there. I kinda want to message her, yk what im gonna
