For My One

I was recently asked by a family member of mine what I see/ saw in Tyrone, why I got with him, why I stayed.. well, to answer her question I had to dig deep, my patchwork heart filled with holes, and hope.... but this is what I came up with. Here's why.  There are multiple reasons I've chosen to share my life and my heart with Tyrone, and Among the first reasons are when he met me, I was pregnant with another man's child. He offered to remain just my friend and meant it. Not once did he ever push for more, or try any "slick" moves to push me. He always respected me, and the relationship I had. I appreciated that, and it made him stick out as an anomaly among men. Due to circumstances, my young age, fear, and my father I wound up aborting the child, and with it I believe, a piece of myself. In the days that were to come I didn't see the one who'd helped get me pregnant, no phone calls, visits... nothing. So, in remembering a friendly gesture Tyrone had made, I called him, and asked him if he would come comfort me, help me to finally stop crying. (It had been about a week and a half of crying) And he did. He came over and just talked to me, like a human, not some piece of trash who just killed a small human, a part of herself so selfishly.... Sorry.. little off subject there. Raw feelings and all. Anyway. At that point mom was here, and ever since I was old enough to realize she was toxic to be around for me and dad, I wanted nothing to do with her. I hated that she was here, hated that she tried to act like my mother then, when I was hurting so badly, she tried to be my mother, not in all the childhood I NEEDED her, but then. Sorry again, such raw emotion of unsettled pains. Back on track now... The second thing he did that made him stand out to me was: I was on medication, and some pretty strong stuff, so I was uncomfortable driving anywhere. Well mom decided to wait until I had Ty over to talk with me, to yell at me to bring her to Sharky's.(a local bar)  I told her no, I didnt feel safe doing it because of the medications, and I didnt want her driving if she was going to be drinking, so of course, we locked horns. In the end, Ty wound up driving her up there for me. (How many men would do that for a girl they'd only known a week and a half?) Tyrone has withstood every obstacle, every trial, every hard time, every triumph, WITH me. By my side, and never once has he raised his hand or his voice to me, never once has he ever made me feel anything less than a queen, and he has always supported me in my dreams, ideas, weird conquests, and my strange little projects. He's always treated me like a queen, he's been there for me when I was sick, when I was weak, when I was as vulnerable as I could get, and never once did he treat me with anything less than respect. Now, I will admit, we've had three fights in our 3 years together, but to be grown up and honest about it, it was because I had refused to be a MATURE adult, and tell him I was unhappy about something. I would write it, and hope he found it, or I would talk to friends to see if it was a problem I was causing, or he was, and it wound up that we'd just lost our communication. But. Since meeting him there have been some GREAT changes in my life. For one, I've grown up into a better, more understanding young woman. Two, he has helped me through so many rough patches in our time together. (Like me being unemployed, he would buy groceries, necessities, drive me to interviews...etc.) and finally, Fourthly, I've given him my heart in the trust, and unspoken understanding that he will never hurt it, and in 3 years together, (so far) he never has.   As a prince among men, I choose him. For good, bad, worse, ugly, and the end. Because I have finally found a MAN to share my life with, not another loser to treat me like garbage, use me, abuse me, and expect me to be there. I have found my prince.

Jenn, you know that you have to kiss alot of frogs in this life to finally find one that turns in to the prince. And happily, I\'d say you have found yours. PS you do not have to justify why you love him, only that you do. I\'m happy for you. Debbie

I am so happy for you Jenn! It is easy to find someone who will share in your joys, but for him to be there for you through all the shit you have had, that makes him special. I wish nothing but the best for you because you are special. Never forget that :)
