Follow up with pain doc

Well yesterday I had my follow up appointment with my Pain Doc . It didn`t start good .When I got there the receptionist kept telling me that my appointment had been canceled . I ask her several times who canceled it and she would not say ,then she say`s I can get you in any how . So in about 20 minutes they told me to go back to the exam room . After waiting for another 45 minutes in the exam room the Doc comes in and starts looking at my MRI on the computer that I am sitting next to . I can see everything he is looking at ( and being an x-ray tech I know what he see`s and it dosen`t look good). He starts telling me about all the arthritis in my lower back and then he say`s there is also a syrnx in the lumbar spine . I repeat that I have been diagnosed with SM in 2004 . I know that both my wife and I told him on both of my previous meetings . He looks like this is the first time he has heard it . He also tells me he dosen`t know what to do for my pain but he wants to do more MRI`s of my thorasic and cervical spine so he can refer me to another NS . He has already sent me to one and the results were that he wanted to put in a spinal cord stimulator . I have already had a shunt put in my cervical spine and I tell him that agian . He say`s "Oh you do" .Yes I do and I told you that on both of my visits .He wants to send me to Lubbock ,Tx. to see Dr. D`Alese .Who I have already had dealings with after first moving to New Mexico back in 2007 .I could not get D`Alese to understand that I was not seeking surgery (why would I want another when I already HAD one) The surgery that I had done in Denver was supposed to take about 7 hours and it took almost 10 hours because of deteathering the cord and placing the shunt then adding all the hard ware to stablize my neck . Plus I had a reaction to the ansthesya and was throwing up for 4 day`s after surgery . My call for help is this , Do I give up on trying to get some relief ? It seams that no one here in New Mexico or the Texas Panhandle knows what to do about SM except to stick you with all kinds of needles that they tell you they don`t know if it will work or not .I went to Texas Tech Spine Clinic for over a year (driving 92 miles back an forth) with NO RESULTS and a lot of pain .I even let them do a nerve deadning on my right low back and still I am in pain . Why did I have to have the one disorder that no one know`s what the heck to do about it .
