Focus on the Positive
Have been kind of wallowing in self-pity lately, till I looked at my last journal entry & realized the good things that have happened since.
Had the PPT & I did not end up in tears at the end! We know my son will have to take English during summer school; he’ll be doing Algebra 1 again next year & we talked about next year’s classes. He even spoke up & gave his input on them—this is a good sign. What he needs to work on, however, is being on time to school. And this should be doable. Should be!
Went on the hike & did much better than I thought. My knees held out & my back did ache the next day, but I still did it!!! It was only 7 miles, but it was my 1st time backpacking. I think looking at the scenery, listening to the nearby river & smelling the wildflowers distracted me from any aches & pains. I forgot how much I liked hiking!
I have a dentist appointment on Saturday; I’ve had a toothache & am afraid it’s a really bad cavity. It’s not killing me, but a constant ache & think it may be something structural. I really DON’T want a root canal or something like that. I think the wisdom tooth removal I had a few years ago was enough for me! But better to find out now than live in pain or having it turn out to be something worse.
And it turns out that I may have a venue for publishing my aunt’s stories. Her friend suggested a Wordpress.com blog, which can offer copyright protection as well. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before! It’s free, it’s easy & can be fun, too. Now it’s just a matter of making the time to set it up & to go through her stories & figure out the logistics of what to publish when.
