Focus!
Wow! Can't believe it has been so long since I put a journal in here! So many times I started and got side tracked. I am doing ok. I have been trying to exercise every day and back to tracking calories. I was down to 169.2 lbs this AM. I am trying to shoot for 2 lbs a week. I have been doing Wii Zumba 2 approximately 30 minutes a day and then also Wii Walk It Out or some other exercise. So I am getting about 11k to 12k steps per day.
This past weekend with David was ok. He got a little bit of an attitude. To be expected. He is a teenager after all and has been in RTC since Easter. So combine the two, and he is totally pushing for freedom when he comes home. His grades on report card: 1 C and 5 A's! Wow! Best report card he has EVER had!
We went to Sea Isles City NJ on Saturday. The beach was beautiful.
I am going to the Phillies Game tomorrow with people from work. Going to be 91 degrees!
I watched "One Nation Under Dog" on HBO a few days ago. I sobbed and sobbed for hours! Gave myself a terrible headache and did not sleep all night. It was so upsetting and disturbing, especially the part where the dogs went on the gas chamber. It is a documentary about the treatment of dogs in America. There is one woman on there who rescues dogs and my heart goes out to her. And there was one guy who trains dogs and went in and found a dog that was growling and biting, (in the shelter) and the shelter was going to euthanize her. He took her out and worked with her and it was just fear. Within a short time, he was playing with her and she was licking him. She got a new home! I bawled happy tears over that part. I had to sit and sob and hug my two babies (who are both rescues) for hours. There was one part on puppy mills also. Kona was rescued from a puppy mill. So that broke my heart.
I am currently reading Game of Thrones. It is really good. (Paul and I have been watching it on HBO for the last two seasons.)
Oh, and I got a new Kindle Fire! It is really cool! I can watch HBO on it as I signed up for HBO GO. I can read a book on it, but still prefer to read on my regular Kindle as I hate reading on a back lit screen. I can also stream all kinds of movies and shows for free.
So my word for the day and the rest of the week is: FOCUS! Stay focused on what I want. Stay focused on one day at a time. Stay focused on my goal and how I am going to get there. Stay focused on my eating and keeping track. Stay focused on exercise. Fatigue still seems to hit me every afternoon but I seem to be feeling a little better due to exercise and cutting back on junk.

It is so very nice to see you on here again! And you are doing just marvelously with your routines and ability to focus! I will work on that very word when I go to my weight room orientation class tomorrow. You inspire me!! Thanks so much!!! Much love and many hugs from Plump
Lovely journal! Full of positives!
Great news regarding David\'s grades. How does he feel about that?
Enjoy the game...think sunscreen!
And remember to breathe!!!
We take all of these challenges we endure and use them to guide us to living better quality lives. For me, it was acceptance of reality as it is and being forced to surrender a lifetime of cherished beliefs in what were proved to be \'non-applicable\' to the crisis of illness I have faced since the death of my husband left me with only a society fully capable of willing to end my life from severe neglect - \'waking up to smell the coffee\' has saved my life and to think it only required my being left as dead in the ER last year when an ambulance had to transport me to the hospital from enduring such severe neglect. PTSD numbs me allowing for moments of joy and happiness.
That is so FANTASTIC about David\'s grades and he has to feel so good about this after so much self-doubt and hate he has endured. We learn what we live and he is beginning to LIVE well. I\'m happy for all of you knowing a bit of the journey you have endured. If you are allowed quality family life at home you will recover your health, happiness and peace of mind. Im rooting for this to be!!!
Kudos to you and Paul and your determination to save Davids life and allow it to be one of quality.
((hugs)) shared.
:-) Patricia
You had me crying about the dogs. However, you had me smiling about David. He is doing great in school
Like your idea of a word for the day. FOCUS.. In your next journal let me know if the word is helping you.
Wow so many steps. You are doing great. keep it up.
I live in NJ and haven\'t heard of Sea Isles City NJ. Did you have fun?
Speaking of \"incorrigible\" animals who would be euthanized, in 1999 in Philadelphia, I accepted a half-Siamese, half \"alley cat\" (politically correct word is \"feral\"). Nobody wanted her, so they dumped her on me and had the nerve to charge me $55. They couldn\'t GIVE her away to anybody else! Anyway, once domesticated she became an intelligent and affectionate pet. Best pet I ever had! Sadly, in 2006 she died suddenly in my apartment. Broke my heart. So I know how you feel about dogs! Love you, Yvette.
Focus is right! Thanks for the journal, your such an inspiration. Glad David is doing good. Much better grades!!!!! So hard to believe how so many animals are treated. SAD. Your doing awesome, have a great weekend.
