It is the educational, political and cultural centre of the country making it one of the top tourist destinations in China. The city and immediate area are served by two airports:机票 Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) – The Beijing Capital Airport is the main international airport in the city. It is located 32 kilometres from the Beijing city centre. A taxi from the airport to the city centre can cost between CNY150-250 (MYR94-157) including toll gate fees and fuel surcharge and will take under an hour of travel time. Airlines that operate from this airport include Malaysia Airlines, Air China, AirAsia X, Singapore Airlines and Cebu Pacific. Beijing Nanyuan Airport (NAY) – This airport serves as both a military airbase and secondary airport for Beijing. It is located in the Fengtai District and 13 kilometres from the city centre. A taxi from the Beijing Nanyuan Airport to the city centre would cost about CNY50 (MYR31) and take around 30 minutes of travel time. Airlines that operate in this airport include China Eastern, China United Airlines and Tianjin Airlines.
