Flashbacks
Satan has been attacking me left and right ever since Sept. 1 rolled around. I have been having flashbacks galore because the one year anniversary of the rape is quickly approaching, and he has to keep reminding me of it. I remember all the stuff I felt that terrible night, and wish my neighbor dead because of what he did to me. I hate the twerp. I long for him to come to Christ, but what he did to me is between him and God. I just wish he didn't do what he did to me because I am scarred for life. I was doing fine until it hit September. What can I do to get through this month? Any advice? I know I am not avoiding the problem, instead the problem is coming to me. What do I do? I am in a lot of pain, and the closer it gets to the date, the more angry I get. I am glad I am writing this out right now, but am lost on what to do. I am in the Word daily and in prayer, but both are suffering right now because of Satan. I need your help. Any advice? Thank you.

Jesus, please give my friend the love, support and guidance she needs to find her way out of this. Help her to be able to cope, survive and end these flashbacks...
I will keep you in my prayers!! God will see you through this.
I can only tell you what helped me. My mother was extremely abusive. She used to beat us with anything that was handy, including the plug end of a chord on a steam iron. She had a rawhide whip made up with 9 rawhide strands. She knotted the ends and beat us with that. One day she dug her fingernails into my chest and ripped down to my stomach. I\'m telling you this to let you know that if you really try, and really seek God, you can forgive. At the suggestion of a friend of mine who is also a minister, I sat down and wrote a letter to my mother, even though she had been dead for about 6 years. I told her how I felt, and let her know that I forgive her. After writing this letter, praying, and reading it to my friend, I burned it. I haven\'t had bad feelings about Mom ever since. I don\'t know if it will work for you, but it did for me. Please do whatever you can to end the bitterness. I held that bitterness for over 50 years and it caused hypertension, a mild heart attack, and a light stroke. Believe me, the anger and bitterness is a tool of Satan to try and take you down. Any time he reminds you of the past, just remind him of his future!
Love In Christ,
Fred
