Fishing Trip

Finally, Hubby, Myself and Grandson took a weekend and went to our cabin to go fishing. I was officially out fished by a 4 year old!!!. I found out I have a difficult time of climbing straight up a river bank 100 feet without a rope to hold onto an. Some nice soul obviously couldn't erither and put a nice rope there so we both could get down to our favorite fishing hole (and back again). We all slid down on out butts, well my hubby didn't cause he's macho, but Grandson and I slid down on our butts followed by the dog. I used the dogs leash and put it around grandson's waist through his belt loops then attached the leash to my belt so he wouldn't fall into the river while going down the river bank and while fishing. The little turkey as soon as he had his line in the water caught a beautiful cut throat trout on his little 2 foot long fishing pole. I had a good laugh because even Papa didn't beat him in the size catagory. I ended up catching about 4 fish, Grandson caught about 6 fish and Papa caught about 10 fish but we released them all so they could grown some more. I think the biggest fish we caught was about 10 inches. We headed back to the cabin just about dark and saw several elk and deer and even a moose and managed to get back to the cabin at about 10:30 PM. We all had hamburgers and then off to bed. Slept until 9:00 the next morning and awoke to a rain storm. Had a nice breakfast of sausage bisquits and gravy and finally headed off to go fishing again at about noon once the rain stopped. Once again I was outfished by a 4 year old at the lake, these fish were much bigger but we didn't keep them either because none of us like eating planted fish (to mushy). LOL we call them Fish and Game hot dogs. But we had fun and enjoyed the 2 days out fishing and enjoying the out of doors. unfortunatly we didn't get to go scouting on the ATV for the elk but I'm sure Hubby and I can do that again next weekend. Hunting season is less than 2 months away so I need to get my trail cams out to keep an eye on their movements.I also am curious on how many wolves move through my hunting spot and will it even be worth going to that spot anymore?  Anyway, I am sore from climbing ropes on river banks but it was worth it, I enjoyed watching my grandson fish and catch fish and enjoyed the time in the out of doors once again.

Sounds great Ferr - its really wonderful to spend time with our grandkids isn\'t it? I was delighted to be able to spend over 5 hours walking round a zoo with mine last week. I nearly didn\'t go because I thought I would spoil the day for everyone if I kept whinging about being breathless but it was a fabulous day! Simple pleasures sure are the best - Sandi xx
