First Ultrasounds for 3rd IUI today, questionable nurse advice??
Hello ladies! I'm back from my two month hiatus of not TTC and I am refreshed and ready to knock this third round out. I finally had time to get in more shape, play with my new pup (who's so cute and growing bigger and bigger daily, did I mention he can ring the bell with is nose when he has to poop? hee hee) and spending some much needed time with the hubby and family.
Today I went to get my first ultrasound on CD3, everything looks good...check! I now start my crazy bitch pills (Chlomid) tonight, then two days of injectibles before another ultrasound and bloodwork (never had the bloodwork in between) so I'm excited. Anyone know what they test for in the blood this time? I forgot to ask!
Anywhoo...ya'll know I'm a crazy fitness gym freak, so I asked the nurse (she's new by the way) about working out this time and that I want to do everything right, even if that means not doing anything. Well....the past nurse and my RE told me last time that I can still workout during the cycle on Chlomid and to stay lighter after the IUI, which I did. WELL....this time the nurse told me that starting today, not to workout or even do yoga (apparently because of all the twisting)...hmmm...I think it's kinda weird that I can't do anything BEFORE my IUI while doing the Chlomid and injectibles. I totally get not to exercise during the TWW but has anyone else heard of not being able to exercise two weeks before the IUI? I'm so confused? Is something different with the injectibles or something? Any advice?? I want to do everything right this time but that just sounds weird. What have ya'll heard?
Thanks for reading this and wish me luck! I'm hoping third time's a charm!

Don\'t know about the workout schedule, but I am sending you lots and lots of luck that third times the charm!!!!!!
Thank you! These injectibles better give me more follies!
I too am a fitness/ gym rat. When I did my IUI\'s with injectibles they let me workout the whole time. (none worked) when I did IVF they wanted me to do light workouts a week before and after retrieval because the ovaries become enlarged and can twist and cause damage. Maybe she was thinking IVF. Good luck hope 3rd time is the lucky one :)
Thank you aristen! She was a lot younger than my last nurse and I know that shouldn\'t matter but just making sure I got the best advice. I\'m definately not going to do anything too strenuous!
I don\'t think anyone in the medical profession agrees on this! With OHSS, they usually warn you about twisting and stuff once you ovulate, but I\'m not sure about before. I think it totally depends on how well you respond. Two days of stims should really make your ovaries go crazy, so you would probably be fine. Good luck!
Hope this is it for you! Keep us posted!!
Pray that this is your time!
Labs to watch your levels to make sure you don\'t ovulate too early and before the IUI. No heavy exercise as your ovaries are going to be large----so you hope they will be with the extra hormones trying to get them plumped up and full of follies. Same as a few days after as they slowly go back to normal. If the ovary twists it can be a big problem. It is rare but can happen, especially with the meds.
Thanks a lot qbfan413! That makes so much sense!
qbfan413 is correct. They tell you this because of what could happen (worst case) I know for fresh cycle IVF it\'s not brilliant to workout right after egg retrieval but that isn\'t your scenario. I did a LOT of water aerobics because I was worried that all the other stuff I was doing would be too rough and compromise my body. After I got the clear go ahead I went back to my regular spin classes and did just fine with it. Keep us posted friend! *HUG!!
My RE actually said the same thing about not working out hard - he was worried about the ovaries twisting, which he said was a very bad thing. When I did IUI with injectibles, I got at least 6-7 more follies than I had with just clomid. I hope you also respond well. Hope that third times a charm with you!!
I LOVE how your dog can ring a bell when he has to poop. Too cute!!
