First Sunday of Acceptance
Today I realized that I have a sexual addiction in all actuality, not as a joke or as a comment to turn someone on. I legitimately believe that my sexual activity is affecting my life in negative ways.
Why I believe this:
- I choose sex over plans with friends or responsibilities
- I continue to sleep with people who hurt me
- I engage in risky sexual behavior such as public sex, sex with people I don't know, unprotected sex, incredibly rough sex
- I feel overwhelming senses of worthlessness and hopeless after having sex
- I believe that sex equates to affection
- Sometimes I feel like I have to have sex even if I don't necessarily feel like it.
- I cheat on EVERY person I date.
I don't want to be like this anymore. Previously I thought it was sexy and fun to consistently want to have sex, but now I see all of the negatives and how drastically it's effecting my life. I want more than anything to be in a healthy committed relationship. I don't know when or why I have this problem. I want to get better and to stop feeling so lonely.
