first month of separation

Well, the first month of separation has been great for me, for the most part.  We were separated within our home for several years before he finally moved out. Huge relief in not dealing with that stress every day all day.  My worst time is when I suddenly find myself alone - and panic that I will always be alone!  My schedule and my kids' schedules are all so busy - that when I have alone time that I know is coming - I'm thrilled.  It's the unplanned alone time that gets me.  How do you cope with that???

I have been watching more movies lately - and I already spend quite a bit of junkie time on DS!! School starts in less than a month and schedules with be more settled then. That will help also. DS has definitely replaced FB in my life!!

lol I still have FB but do not use it nearly as much. And for some reason, I can\'t convince myself to fill the time with cleaning my house hahaha :) I think our problems can also be that we need a life outside of the kids. What I mean is maybe the PTA who will do things during the day, or girlfriends to do lunch with. etc... I know I need to bring that back into my life :)

Yes, cleaning the house is always an option:) I have always been very busy with pta, lunch with friends, etc... I\'m feeling I need \'new\' friends - more of a group that I can relate to...as in DS, of course. My current group of lunch friends \'would never\' divorce... so they don\'t quite get it. Thanks everyone here!

And when my current well-meaning friends say they are \'praying for our marriage to heal\' - I truly want to slap them. How about praying for my peace and happiness?

Cathleen, your friends did not walk a mile in your shoes and if you were like me, you were so good at putting on a good public face they did not know what it was like living at home for you. Hopefully soon they will realize how much happier you are on your own, and they will start to pray for your peace and happiness. Mine have!! They can see it in my whole demeanor, it is pretty obvious I am so much better off without that millstone around my neck anymore!
