First journal entry - woohoo!
Have a question to others who do journals here at DS - do you find it helpful in a way that is different than if you were just writing in your personal, private journal at home? I guess I'm looking for the pros and cons to taking the time to doing a journal here.
Doing pretty well, but my main issue is what to do job wise. I have my own math tutoring business - which I love - but I could use more business. Then I saw this week an ad for a part-time position to manage the math tutoring center at a local community college. I'm sure I qualify, but do I really want to work for someone else? I never was very good at that (part of why I like working for myself), but I also wouldn't mind having a steady gig as the private tutoring definitely has it's ups and downs in terms of how much work I have, especially since the economy started tanking. This is only the start of my third year of having the private tutoring business here - use to do the same thing where we lived before - so maybe I'm not giving it enough time to grow? How do you know? Ug - money/work issues can be such a stressor!

I find journaling here on DS very rewarding and better than writing in a personal journal because I don\'t have to worry about privacy. I hope your money/work issues workout for you!
I know I am late weighing in here (sorry) but I can see it both ways. A steady gig is nice, as it\'s dependable income, but having another set your hours, rules, etc, can be irritating when you are used to doing this yourself.
I find writing in my DS journal nice sometimes, as it is good for me to get feedback from others.
I think you never know until you try something, and with each new experience brings different areas of expertise for you to master.
It can\'t hurt to try....You might love it.
I decided to stick with my own business - the math tutoring - and hope for the best. So far, that\'s been a good decision as I got a new student and also got approached to teach a one-day workshop. Yea!
