First Entry - Started Tae Kwon Do (again)
Have been thinking about Joining TKD again because I used to go (and got black belt) but it has been about 6 years. My friend goes and he is almost a black belt now, and my therapist said it would be good for me and I can defintly use the excersie and that should help other things as well.
I am going to a new studio but they are under the same (Grand Master) meaning the techniques/forms/etc will all be very similar if not the same. Because of this and my former black belt they are letting me come over as a black belt to the new studio.
My first class was Tuesday and I took another one Wednesday. A little overwhelming because I am jumping back in as a black belt but have to retrain and remember ALL the forms from white to black again. The first one (White belt) was easy I remembered that one, the Yellow Belt I remembered a lot of parts of it but was lucky to join a part of the class that went over it step by step so that so I got that down pretty good.
Just hope I can get 1 on 1 groups for the other forms to re-train in them like I was able to for Yellow Belt.
Other then that I realized I am out of shape, not as bad as I thought, kept up pretty good though so that I should be able to get back in shape faster then remembering all the forms.
Final thing that is putting a bit more pressure on me is the master of the studio wants me to be an assistant instructor so I have to get up to speed fast.
That is all for now, will update in a couple weeks to see how well/bad I am doing.
