First Entry

I have been visiting Daily Strength since I was first diagnosed with Parkinson's in October of 2010.  Has really helped me through all the trauma. Reading about all the things that I was facing would, at times, make the tremors a lot worse, but I felt compelled to learn everything I could about this disease.  Fear, anxiety and depression from the diagnosis has, so far, been my worst symptons.  Tremer in my left leg, especially when under stress, is what sent me to the neuroligist.  I sometimes wish that I had never gone.   What I really hate, is putting my wonderful husband through all this.  It is just unbelievable, because he grew up with a Dad who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in his 20's.  His Dad lived with us the last 6 years of his life.  So I too was aware of the effects of the disease.  His Dad's speech was greatly impaired, had some tremors in his hands, but his mobility stayed good  until he died in his early 70's of lung cancer.  His Dad seem to reach a plateau in the very beginnig and stayed that way all his life.  He was very adjusted to his illness, and was just always pleasant to be around.   Well, I must get busy.  The day is flying by, and I must go excercise.

I Love You Mom!!!! I just logged in and was looking around. This seems like a wonderful site. I\'m sorry I\'m not closer to you so that I can be there for you more. I love you soooo much, you will never be alone with this disease I will ALWAYS be here I promise I will ALWAYS make sure that you are ok. You could never look defective to anybody because you are nothing less then an angel in the eyes of everyone who meets you. You truely are one of the best examples of what a person should be like, you are one of the greatest people I know or will ever know. It was because of you that I became anything at all in this life and I strive everyday to be half the woman you are. I Love You Dearly!!
