First day on the job
Last night went very well. I'm assinged on the insert line. Not a bad gig. I started out putting the rejected pieces in the shredder. They get shredded, melted down and reused for insert material.
The inserts are the plastic molds that has ridges that holds the shelving inside refrigerator units. They dont weight much. There's fridge and freezer inserts that comes through. You take the rejects and put them on the shred line and move the freezer units that passes to another line. They come in on racks that looks like racks you hang meat from in a meat locker.
Thats what I did anyway on my first day. I'm sore since I been on a lift for 5 years but I'll get used to it.

Driving a forklift you have to get a certified. But its easy.
I know someone that works in a warehouse that drives one.
CIL that has been his main job that is why I mentioned it to him.....yes I am not certified and sadly have never tried to drive one ever....heck I barly get how to drive a golf cart...LOL The one I would like to know is a bucket loaded with a back hoe....I would like to know but not willing to seek out trying to learn.....LOL
Lol. I have been certified for years. Some places here issue you a company license you have to have on you at all times you're on one. It's easy. What's tricky is the finesse work like I did with lumber.

It is a relief when the first day on a new job goes well enough. It takes me about 3 months to get acclimated to a new job and feel comfortable.

It takes a while to get used to the job and how your job relates to the previous and post areas of your position. That's how I feel comfortable with my job. It generally takes 6 months to find out if you really like it.
