First day on Geodon

I have been exhausted for most of the day. I took 60 mg of Geodon last night and it got me sleepy, but not able to actually fall asleep. I set my alarm for 10 am and then when I woke up I re-set it to 11. I slept through that one, and woke up just in time to get ready to see my therapist. I brought my laptop so she could read some of my journals, but the internet at the clinic sucks, so I was only able to show her one. The thing is, when I go in to see her she normally sees me when I'm doing well, so she doesn't see the bad side. I was looking back through past journals and it turns out that I have been having problems with Geo and affection from at least 2011. I was so happy a couple nights ago. Normally, I take a shower, brush my teeth, take out my contacts and say goodnight to him. I kiss him on his lips and then one on his hairline. I say "I love you" and he responds back. A couple nights ago he actually said "I love you" first. It was nice. I finally took a picture of my new haircut and I will try and post it after I'm done here. I don't have anything to do tomorrow so hopefully I don't sleep all day. I have been slowly losing weight... I'm down from 234 to 231.4 pounds. A friend of mine and I are doing a competition- which one of us can get to our "goal" weight. I want to get to under 200 pounds, and she wants to get from 190 to 160. We haven't decided on a reward yet, but it's motivation to keep going after the post-New Year slump.

that\'s great about the weight. wish i would lose instead of gain. medication makes people gain. i was horrified when i discovered statins do that. grrrrr. so many side effects, wish i was never on it.

sorry about geo. five years of troubles isn\'t good. hope it works out. xxoo

Geodon, Abilify, and Zyprexa are the best-known of the \"new\", sometimes called \"atypical\", anti-psychotic drugs. They have been used to treat bipolar and other mental illnesses. When I was young these drugs were not yet available. They work far better than the \"old\" anti-psychotics, such as Mellaril (which I was on for many years). I was 61 years old before being put on Zyprexa. It has changed my life. Pity that I couldn\'t HAVE a life for so many years. But there is a dark side to Zyprexa, it can cause \"significant\" weight gain and/or diabetes. Manufacturers downplayed those dangers to get approved by the FDA. So now I\'m sane but borderline diabetic.

I gained weight on Seroquel but it was a combo of meds and bad meds. I just started Geodon so I hope I can lose weight again

Your competition sounds great. .Your reward can be picked out while you are losing. think of something good.
what about printing your journals(the ones you think are most important) to show the therapist. or save them to word or notepad if you have that?
