First Day Off Riba
Yesterday was the first day without Riba! I'm not sure if it's psychological, but I do feel different. One thing I noticed is that in the afternoon, the effects of the last shot of Interferon seemed to be really strong. Sweats, feeling slightly feverish, I took a long nap and could hardly wake up. At about 7:00 P.M. I forced myself to go for a ride on my new bike. The goal right now is to simply move. I'm not trying to exercise, I only want to quit being a sloth. I rode for about 20 minutes on mostly flat ground at a very easy pace, and that was enough.
From what I've read, Riba is passed from the body through the digestive system, so I'm trying to eat a lot of fiber. Fruits, and veggies, along with low fat meats.
I'm also trying to slowly wean myself from the Ambien. I've been taking half a pill, this week I will shave a bit from that and try to abut 40%. Last night I had a bit of trouble falling asleep (could have been the long nap), but I slept well once I finally did sleep.
I will keep moving onwards, wherever that takes me. Everyone tells me that recovery is slow, I'm trying to internalize that right now and take it easy, while still doing good things for my mind and body.

Can you take children\'s Benadryl for sleep?
That is great you got out on your bike! The process of healing is however long it takes your body to rebuild. It took me all of six months to get my blood work back into normal range with my thyroid at a full year. I walked nearly every day and could monitor my progress by how far and the length of time, to how long my recovery time from walking would be. The days where I pushed myself to much could keep me in and exhausted the next day. Expect those days of exhaustion, it\'s ok and normal. Our minds can trick us into thinking we can do a whole lot more than our body can actually do. Lol.
Welcome to post tx, where time flies!
Hugs and congrats!
Sounds like you are doing great. i cannot imagine getting on my bike, especially in this HEAT! Today will be my first day without Riba, but I never had to deal with Intefreron or invevec (sp??). Riba was the worst of it for me and now i\'m done with it. ...till next time, maybe...
I\'m looking forward to no nausea, bloating and constipation! Also looking forward to my HGB coming back up and starting to exercise again!!!
probably one of the longest things is rebuilding muscle mass that has atrophied. that\'s why i\'m amazed you could ride bike as long as you did!
Don\'t forget to drink LOTS of water......flash that system..clean it out:):) Don\'t try to over do....just take baby steps:):) We will all be praying for your speedy recovery :):)
Well I rode my bike a bit on Sunday, but Monday hit me pretty hard. Decided to listen to my body and take a rest. This morning (Tuesday) I went out for a bit before it got hot. I tried not to push hard at all, but I was still tired when I got home.
I just need to take it slow. A day not taking Riba is a good day. :-)
I\'m not pushing, riding a bike on flat ground is easier than walking.
Great! Off the Riba! That was the worst on me quite honestly. I\'m so glad that you got the last of that done. It took me a good 4 months of being off the Riba to start feeling normal energy levels, so I\'m with Shadow, don\'t try to push too hard right out of the gate. I read somewhere that Riba has a 6 month half life! That will take a while to leave your body for sure. Of course lots of water (I know you\'re probably sick of water by now) will probably help. So glad you\'re done!!!
Thanks all. You know, today was the first time in 11 months that I actually felt kinda-sorta normal. But that was only for about 30 seconds, then it passed. :-)
Actually I think the headache has lessened somewhat. But I do seem to have a very upset lower GI tract. I think the Riba is leaving my body kicking and screaming.
