First day of PHP Trauma Recovery

First day in the trauma recovery program went well.  The people are good.  It's not as controlling an environment as I feared it would be.  And they're flexible about my fatigue issues.  Lunch break is 12-1:15 so there's time to lay on the couch for half an hour or more.  And in case i hadn't told you, the program is 9-3.  There is a walk to the dining hall but I'm going to try to get out of that by bringing my own lunch and just staying in the building we have our sessions in.  Conserve energy, not tire my legs, and that way I can keep counting calories as I have been, too.
One person had a panic attack today so I was able to see how they responded which was good.  There's a different therapist every morning though, so there still may be some tough ones ;).  2 of the patients  have DID so I've met each of them at least twice by different names.  At lunch one of them turned to me "Hi, we haven't met, I'm ______."  And I thought to myself "Didn't we already meet and wasn't your name _______?"  But I figured it out. :D

I haven't met my psychiatrist there, or individual therapist yet.  Perhaps tomorrow.
Anywhoo.  I'm hopeful and think it will be good. 3-4 weeks and I'll be healed ;).  Peace,Beth

Funny about the DID. I\'m glad this is working out for you, so far, and they are meeting your needs, not you fitting into their program! Remember, healing is a journey, and this is the first step. Don\'t be discouraged if you aren\'t perfect at the end, we never are!

I know - about the perfect at the end thing. Its a joke with a friend of mine - we met in a sexual abuse support group that met at a church for 13 weeks, ending on April 19th so she kept saying \"We\'ll be healed on April 19th\". And i didnt feel that way about that group but thats kinda how i feel about this. Im hoping for some major steps forward.
