Fired my pulmonologist
Was feeling so congested and was at the doctor's office on another matter so I went into her office, told the receptionist my story. My doc was on vacation (she only works 4 days per week). So I saw a different doc. He suggested, based on my PET scan to see an oncologist and asked if I had an emergency supply of prednisone and antibiotics at home. He called it a rescue kit. I had been asking the other doc for 2 years if she could write a script so I could have both steroids and antibiotic at home so If I had an episode, I would call in, tell her what was happening. If she felt it necessary I would start on a prednisone titration.
Oh no, we don't do that was her answer to me. Now I found out that again she was giving me bad information.
That was the final straw. I asked the doc I saw today who the head of the department was and it turned out to be him, my lucky day! I switched right there and then.
Turns out he gave me a steroid titration and levaquin to see if it clears up the congestion. Said my lungs sounded great!
Go for the rehab eval tomorrow morning.
We saw the wound care docs this morning for Ray's foot. They ordered some special dressing and next week he goes into a cast and a cam walker. Thankfully we had hand controls installed in the truck when we bought it.
Lots going on

Good for you! My pulmonologist has always given me undated Rx for prednisone and antibiotics as an \"in case\". It has been helpful on more tan one occasion. Congrats on the we pulmonary doc, and good luck at rehab!
Laura
good for you. I had a doctor that wouldn\'t prescribe re-fills of antibiotics, but he didn\'t have a problem prescribing re-fills of prednisone. I went to a different Dr and she had no problem with re-fills of both.
I\'m congested as well and my pulmo put me on zithromycin 250mg, three times a week. It sucks doesn\'t it.
God speed
