Fingers Crossed

I am afraid to say it out loud for fear I may jynx it and send the IRS to  coming once again at me with that fine tooth comb. I finally got the missing info that I needed from cashing in Dave's ESOP last year. This I did know had plenty of tax taken out and I did have the paperwork to prove it.  Since I have never seen a penny of the stimulus money from last year, they should take that off the blasted back taxes from 2016. That, coupled with my chunk payment plus last years refund kept and deducted....  I should finally be all paid in . In addition I should get several thousand back. While I am almost afraid to say it out loud.... I should finally be free of this dark cloud hanging over me.

I mentioned to my H&R lady that this year I will be selling the house. I was afraid that money would put my single income over the limit and they would again refuse to give me the covid stimulus for this year. Thankfully that money does not count as income unless it is over $250 grand. (Yeah I am still laughing through tears at that one)   I was at first very upset when she was telling me that I would not get a penny of the stimulus from last year to deduct from this past debt because with cashing in his ESOP it put me at a higher income this past year. But Because he was still alive in January, she said I could file jointly and as a result I would be allowed a higher deduction from the bloated income. At first, I was in tears and so damn angry to think that after working throughout all the covid crap and running myself ragged I would not see a penny of a promised stimulus to help ALL to get through this. Nevermind the fact that Illegals are being herded into the country and given everything for free, and nevermind the fact that all who have gotten to sit safely at home and get unemployment( as well as stimulus) without having to pay any tax on it. Once again, I was feeling like I was punished and would continue to get all taken from me.    (My finger are still crossed they don't decide to do that . I will not breathe easy til I have that check in my acct, which they say will take forever. But at least it is now all out of my hands. )

So I am finally seeing the fog being lifted. Still waiting for restoration from my water damage and the roof fixed, but the money is there for that.  There is light at the end of my tunnel, I just need to crank the old engine on that blasted train.   LOL

It shouldnt be them taking your stim for back taxes. That isnt in the bill they passed. The stim is only if under $150k income for singles or $250k for couples if Im not mistaken. And thats all three first was $1200 then $600 then $1400 I think
Good luck
I saw only the word fingers on the notification and my perverted mind took totally different thoughts on this post lol wink wink

Bill...LOL That is because you know me all too well these days.

I never got any of the stims. The amt of my income last year was was still well under 150 k (even with a hefty cashing in of his ESOP) I am just glad to have them finally (eventually) to be deducted off.
