Financial Goals

The economy seems to be rebounding (yay!).  I'm in good now with a very aggressive sales guy who is going to be pushing our wedding business through the Ocean Manor hotel and resort in Pompano Beach.  Given his high track record for closing and break-neck speed for high volume, he'll make their heads spin, get them busier than hell, book their banquet rooms at least 5 times a week, and will probably get promoted or get a job at a bigger hotel from there, which is all good for me.  He could very easily have me booked on two weddings every weekend, in addition to corporate presentations during the week, which would be plum sweet.  He's been paying me $700 per wedding and wants to raise that to $1,000, which, at $2,000 per week, would have my $10,000 in credit card debt paid off within six months, and then very quickly build up $5,000 cash reserve in the bank and fully fund that Roth IRA to $4,500 a year or whatever the IRS allows, plus open some non-IRA accounts and play a little in the stock market with that money, maybe buy a second real estate property to flip in a few years, pay off my home faster.  Given my fast speed of editing and delivering the video product, keeping up this pace is doable.  I just have to stay very organized and time-efficient.  This is all, of course, speculative, and I'm probably dreaming (the truth is probably a little more depressing), but putting it down in print here is a good, positive affirmation to making it happen.
Right now, there's enough money to keep the bills paid, which is good during an economic recession, but there needs to be a lot more if I'm ever going to enjoy any kind of comfort and be in a financial position to retire at some point (although I'll probably always keep doing some kind of work...keeps me from going nuts of boredom).  Two of these projects a week to edit plus shooting on weekends will certainly keep me busy, and I like the adrenalin rush.
