Finally some good news!
Hi friends,
Today is the first time in a long time I heard some positive news. I went in for my morning monitoring today and it looks like my first double IUI will be Friday & Saturday (I go back in Wednesday to confirm). I was so afraid it was going to be scheduled early next week and I will be away for business, so that was the 1st good news I received this morning. 2nd good news was hearing my husbands sperm count has increased to over 3M!! Last SA he had his count was at 1.5M. I forgot to get a copy of the results to look at mobility and morphology, but the fact his count increased was such great news!
I know not to get my hopes up and I know conceiving with IUI is not very likely on the first try. Especially factoring in my husbands count and the fact my RE believes IVF will be our only real shot. It's a step in the right direction. It just feels good to leave the office with a smile on my face and not crying for a change. Maybe with his increased count we may not have to go through IVF which would just be a relief since my insurance does not cover it. One cycle at a time though, time will tell.
I also wanted to share with anyone also struggling with male infertility that my husband has been taking Fertility Blend (sold on drugstore.com) for 4months and recently has also quit smoking, hallelujah! I do believe those pills helped out and even though he hates taking them they are working!
Well thanks for listening and sending you all the best of luck!

So I got a copy of my husbands SA results today to compare and I was a little off on a few things. The 1.5 number I had in my head was the count for motile sperm after being washed (ART SA)
Below is a side by side look at his numbers from Sept and Dec 27th - these results are pre-washed)
sperm count 7.65 (SA in july was 4.7) - Now 18.18
% Motile (visual) 44 low - Now - 53 normal
total # of motile sperm (M) - 11.711 - now 33.47
Normal morphology (Kruger) 2.0 low - now 17 normal
Hope this helps anyone out there feeling hopeless about SA results.
