Finally on the right path..

I find myself in the best place I've been in a very long time.  I've learned things in a few short months that some people never learn.  There are still things I struggle with..fear of rejection being the biggy.  It took me forever to acknowledge that I was transsexual.  I'm so happy that I have.  It has forced me to do a lot of soul searching and has forced me down a path of self discovery.  It has also lead me in directions that were unexpected.  I realized that I don't identify as much with heterosexual women as I was expecting.  That struck me off guard because I was just accepting that I was a woman; maybe not physically but I'm working on it and it takes time.  It then occurred to me and I had one of those duh moments, if I'm a woman and I've always been attracted to women then logically I'm homosexual.  And this is where the fear of rejection comes in.  I feel a sense of belonging to the lesbian community but I was born physically male.  This may seem silly to some because I was born male I've been afraid no one will see me for who I am and also reject me because I haven't had to go through the same "rite of passage" of coming out.  I'm going to have to come out to family and friends but it's as transsexual not as a lesbian.  If I told them that I was still attracted to women no one would give it a second thought I am finally over that fear.  I know who I am.  I can say that I am transsexual with pride and I can say that I am a lesbian.  Some people may argue and come up with a hundred reasons why I'm not but I'm never going to make everyone happy.  And I'm not going to try to make everyone accept me.  I will embrace the ones that do and try to give them the understanding and support they give me.
