Finally Had the Talk

Well, I had the talk with my son last night, finally. It was all very, very calm & factual. I told him why what he did was wrong--legally & morally--even though I understood why he did it. And I expressed my concern for his safety as well. He assured me that he did not give out any personal information over the computer, nor did he use the webcam (which I didn't ask, but he volunteered to say). He also said (voluntarily) that he knew it was wrong because I trusted him to use the computer for homework & he took advantage of that & broke my trust.

I told him that it was very mature of him to admit that. I asked if there was anything else he wanted to say, or any questions he may have & he said no. So I "closed the case" now that we both knew how we both felt about the subject. And life went on...
On a more humorous note...this morning, he was his usual crabby self & I asked, "What happened to the little boy who used to be kind to his mother?" His answer: "He hit puberty!"

Ain't it the truth! :)
