Finally had HSCT in Chicago!

Patients talk about the rollercoaster  post hsct but I felt the rollercoaster started the year before. Applying everywhere and gathering documents was a full time job.Thankfully my husband was up to it.  At one point we were ready to pack up and head to Manila. Then Moscow. Then Florence. And then 8 months into applying we finally heard back from Chicago. We flew out for evaluation, were accepted, and came back 2 months later to start the two month process. Its strange having it all over and done with. NOw I get to ride the second rollercoaster or waiting to see what does and doesn't happen. NO relapses since I was evaluated in August, uinless you count to steroid crash that left me pretty gimpy just after I was accepted. Balance is so much better now. Legs are much imroved. Going back for one year follow up early next month. But regardless of the MRI, I feel and function much better than before so  even if can stop things and keep things the same I'll take that.
