Finally...Friday

I got home last night and no sooner that I walked in roomie is complimenting on what I'm wearing.  I know he knows I'm getting more strength and distancing myself.  It makes me angry that distancing is what it takes to come around.  And, it won't be consistant.

I don't even eat dinner with him anymore.  I don't have the energy for the back and forth anymore.  I took my ex off block.  I've had a couple of days to process where I'm at regarding him.  Bottom line,  the abusive way he talks to me was enough to stir me away from being with him for the time being.  He's just another manipulative person that I would allow in my life.  I'm not afraid of him talking to me anymore.   I'm the one in control.  I can't allow what he says to me hurt me and it won't anymore.  I want him to be happy, just not with me right now.  My counselor encouraged me to be alone for awhile while I'm making the transition from being with roomie.  I will probably continue living where I am at but it depends on how the roomie reacts when I talk to him to him.  I have to set boundaries.    Do you think at 57 for a man who has lived alone with no wife and kids ever can suddenly put into into a relationship when he never has before?  Counselor does not seem to think so.  It's not his fault and I won't try and change him.

I need to find happiness withen myself...the treehouse wasa start.

I agree with you there. You can't change others but you can change yourself. Hugs!

The more I live my own life, the easier it becomes to take the people around me on their own terms. *They* is what *they* is and *they* ain't what *they* ain't.

The treehouse was a beautiful start. May it set a sustainable precedent. You are worth it.

More healing hopes and continued support.
