Finally driving!

So where are we? Its two weeks after last entry, about, and several things are better. I can sit in a chair, bend over and tie my shoes. I drove around at the county fair parking lot, popping wheelies(ok not really), and weaving in and out of parking logs. The police showed up because someone from a nearby RV park thought the highschool kids were doing tricks. Nope, just me and my spouse trying to avoid hitting the cow barns.    So yesterday I drove to the nearby town for PT. My husband was Ok with the progress. Today, unbeknownst to him, I jumped in the truck to drive across town for a drive up coffee. Made me soooo happy. Before I got sick I put 3,000 miles a month on my truck. I am feeling grim because my daughter and I had planned to go to the big gift show in Dallas TX for our store in January. Now she is going alone. Snif. I can not wait to be walking more than 6 minutes! Im up to 25 minutes on the bike. Still the hip flexor thing. Ihave a CT scan on Monday for my chest. Have not gotten paraneoplastic bloodwork from OHSU yet. Was supposed to get that last week. And still waiting for R etuxin approval!!! That was last week too! I just keep calling and calling.......

So happy for you Heidi, what a great accomplishment. I do remember starting to drive, very short trips without traffic. I still avoid traffic, and the straighter the better, cruise control helped some too when my knees hurt.
Yes a simple drive thru can be exhillirating. I go to the bank more than coffee, but Whooooo Hooooo to Youuuuuuu!!!
Keep up your good work...

Well done Heidi. Everything moving on and getting better. I am sorry you are still waiting for results and for answers. This is the other difficult bit at the beginning and really raises anxiety levels. So good to hear of your progress. In time you will have the results and the answers and your energy can go towards making you even better. Next time you will be at the store with your daughter. Best wishes. Autumm
