Finally - back home
18Apr13 2:54pm
I'm finally back home from the hospital. I had another bad episode of pancreatitis and my liver was also inflamed. They xported me from CCH up to BIDMC (Beth Isreal Hosp in Boston) last Thurs (4/11). And yes, I was only about a mile or so from the bombing during the marathon. Those poor people. I was so devastated for them. The entire hospital was buzzing and we got quite a few injuries.
And, selfishly, it made me feel even more vulnerable. Like... there but for the grace of God, go I... type of thing. It was a hellish stay this time. I felt so awful - the ambulance ride up left me sobbing and wanting to curl into a little ball. Add in more pain, vomit, etc. and an incredibly rude roommate and her dozen visitors (who came 7am and stayed till 11pm!!!) and it was awful.
Even worse, other than a few small things, they found nothing "new" to fix. Or I guess that could be good news. I'm discouraged tho. To think this could be my life from now on... ugh.
So here I am at home, happy to be here but still barely able to walk. And I get a certified letter from the ASS at my school who's been trying to get rid of me. He gives me til next Thurs to come up with a letter saying I intend to return to work in the fall and also medical documentation supporting this. Yeah, right. I think this is it: I just lost my job. After so much work and sacrifice, my financial future seems totally bleak (well, pretty much all my future seems bleak).
Another hard time. It seems life is just a series of hard times. I wish we could catch a break here. Give us some gas to deal with the next disaster. Nibs

Oh no I am so sorry to hear about your hospital stay, and so close to the bombing to boot..
There is nothing worse than a rude roommate. Don\'t they have a time limit when visitors have to leave? Every hospital I have been in have a 8:00 cut off, especially if you are sharing a room. I would have said something!!! But that is just me..I am there to rest not to visit..And I would have told the other person I know your family is worried about you, but I really need to rest & I can\'t with people coming in & out. Could you please have some respect for others & have them come in the morning? Then I would have told the nurse..
Hey a new pain pill you take only once a day Exalgo ER, it is time released dilaudid..It works pretty good, I quit taking it because I didn\'t like feeling loopy all day, but it really helped with the pain. For a almost a week I was pain free..Maybe you will have better results..
Feel better My Friend..Cheryl
Hospitals :-( Bad roommates :-( The bombing, What is this world coming to? Best Wishes, and Godspeed to pain free life. Brain
